Though trained in oil painting for 8 years in college, a studio fire in 1996 prompted a pursuit of watercolor. A move to the Katahdin region in 2004 caused a return to oils, which she pursues along with watercolor now. Though she loves the small, carefully-painted oil, as you read the dimensions of "Autumn at the Falls", for instance, you will see that she also paints very large, 88" x 102". She paints on location and in the studio, based on the size and accessibility of the subject, both on the coast and in the interior.
