Deena S. Ball earned a BA in Art History and Studio Art from Colby College and has taught and exhibited her work across the country. She helped to co-found LaneArts Events, a non-profit in Chester County, PA, aimed at connecting artists with land trusts. She also studied at the Tyler School of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art.
She writes about her work: "The Maine landscape also has a darker, stormier side, with deep pine woods where silence prevails, powerful rivers that can wash out roads, and a rising ocean that threatens and claims human creations. Perhaps it's the frequent gloomy skies that make an artist appreciate the nuances of gray and the profound impact of sunlight."
Her work is in watercolor, fixed and presented like oils with no glass. It is beautiful work, moody and rich.
