Johnson is a multi-faceted, self-taught artist who came to the Katahdin region to teach wilderness survival. He has made several birch bark canoes and produced a number of carved sculptures for the Foxwoods Resort. As a teacher of metalwork at the high school level, his clever ideas take quick root in the materials at hand.
